Questions
How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot or image?
Upload the image, drag it onto the page, or paste it with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on Mac). My QR Studio finds the code, decodes it and shows the contents as readable details.
Is it safe to open the link inside a QR code?
Not always. QR codes are sometimes used for phishing. Before showing a link we check for lookalike domains, raw IP addresses, link shorteners, hidden credentials and unencrypted http. We never open links automatically — you decide.
Do you store the images I upload?
No. The image is decoded in memory on our server and discarded immediately. We don’t keep a copy or a log of what the code contained.
Why can’t it read my QR code?
Very blurry, skewed or tiny codes may not decode. Use a sharp, well-lit photo with the whole code visible and a little blank margin around it. Screenshots work best.
Can I read a Wi-Fi QR code to see the password?
Yes. Wi-Fi codes show the network name, security type and password. The password is masked until you click Show.
Can I edit a QR code I scanned?
You can’t change a printed code, but you can recreate it. Click “Recreate & customise” and we’ll open the generator with the same content, ready for your logo, colours and frame.
